Meet the New Team

Marcus Chen — Lead iOS Engineer. Marcus joins Overmainlab AI from Apple, where he spent eight years on the iOS frameworks team, contributing to core system APIs and co-leading a major initiative to bring on-device machine learning capabilities to consumer apps at scale. Before Apple, Marcus built the iOS client for a Series B mobile productivity startup that was acquired by Google. He brings rare expertise in the intersection of native iOS development and AI integration, which is central to Overmainlab AI’s product strategy.

Dr. Priya Nair — ML Research Lead. Priya comes to Overmainlab AI from OpenAI, where she spent three years as a research scientist focused on alignment and human-preference modeling. Her published work on reward modeling and preference learning has been cited extensively across the field, and her practical expertise in fine-tuning foundation models for consumer applications is directly applicable to what Overmainlab AI is building. Priya holds a PhD in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University.

James Okafor — Platform Engineering Lead. James previously led platform infrastructure at Google, where he was responsible for the reliability and scalability of a suite of consumer products serving hundreds of millions of users. His experience designing distributed systems that must perform flawlessly under unpredictable consumer load — and his track record of zero-downtime launches — makes him an ideal fit for Overmainlab AI’s growth stage. These three hires materially advance Overmainlab AI’s ability to execute against its pre-launch roadmap. The iOS lead position has been the highest-priority open role since the company’s founding; with Marcus on board, the mobile development track can now move at full speed.
